Yesterday I went to Adobe Live with my wife Kris, it was fun! Especially the presentation of Waldo Smeets considering a sneak peak of Flex 3.
He showed a new tool called the profiler which should rock but unfortunately it failed to work (that's the problem with alpha software). But the interface looked promising (you can see how many instances are made of one class. How much memory it consumes. etc.).
He also showed the way Flex Builder is going to handle the fact that the Flex SDK is going to be open source (which is awesome), you can choose the compiler in your project so if there is a new SDK released by the community or by Adobe developers can now easily use the custom/new compiler instantly.
After his presentation I spoke with Waldo about the future of Flash Media Server (FMS3) and the open source visions of Adobe. There will be a version 3 that's for sure but I stick with Red5 at this moment. The opensourcing of the Flex SDK is a new step for Adobe and I think they are brave to take that step. My hopes are that more technologies will follow like the Flash Player and the RTMP protocol.
I also talked with Prisma-IT about becoming a certified Flex 2 Developer. Since 2 weeks it's possible in Holland! So I'm getting one soon!
