Adobe, why no 64-bits Flash Player?

01 Jul: Collaboration with Adobe Flex

    posted by: martijn, at 1 July 2008 20:42 GMT+1, 1 July 2008 22:15 GMT+1

For the first time in my professional history I’m blessed with co-workers that also know Flex (and Flash of course).

I’m thinking about a workable system to collaborate together with Flex Builder. It is possible to just edit together in the same Flex project (like we do with PHP projects), but Flex will build every time a file is saved (I know this can be turned off) which tells me there must be a better way.

    My solution is as follow:
Every team member has a local project which he commits to a version control system like SVN or CVS every time he thinks it is necessary. A team leader should revise all collisions and make decisions how to merge the code.

Although it seems to me that this a good solution it also feels there is a better solution.

This is a pretty common, if not the most common method of doing collaborative Flex development. We've not had any issues using this process with a team of 3, but I could see this potentially being problematic if your team is much larger
