    07 Dec: Universal filesystem

    posted by: martijn, at 7 December 2009 21:02 GMT+1, 7 December 2009 21:03 GMT+1

I want to suggest that we should work towards an open standard regarding filesystems. The problem is of course very obvious, windows filesystems are not really accessible by Mac of by Linux and that counts also for Mac and Linux. Since I switched to Mac I bumped into his issue more

FAT32 is readable by everyone (as far as I know) but lacks big file support and case insensitive. NTFS is not case sensitive and is not 100% writable by *nix systems. Another filesystem is not that wide spread but I think we need a filesystem that should be a standard on media centers and mp3 players.

  • 08 Oct: My projects moved to GitHub

    posted by: martijn, at 8 October 2009 8:09 GMT+1, 8 October 2009 8:21 GMT+1

As version control system I'm using Git for the last 2 months and I'm very happy with the system. Therefor I've moved my open source projects to github.

Currently I have 2 projects on github:

    • UIModifier
    • Renamer (previously unreleased)

I'm considering more projects but I first have to determine if I want to release those and if they are worth it :p.

  • 25 Feb: AIR, my opinion!

    posted by: martijn, at 25 February 2008 21:24 GMT+1, 26 February 2008 0:24 GMT+1

AIR 1.0 is released and therefor there is a lot of reading on the web about it.

First of all people still don't see what AIR enables for certain developers. Well it's quite simple: Web developers can create desktop applications with stuff they already know (Flash or HTML/CSS/Javascript or a mixture of both). No need for learning Java SWT or something similar (cross-platform UI toolkit).

  • 06 Aug: Red5 Admin Panel's future

    posted by: martijn, at 6 August 2007 23:09 GMT+1, 15 August 2009 9:12 GMT+1

Update: I'm no longer involved with the development of Red5 or the Red5 Admin Panel.

Red5 Panel is accepted in the Red5 distro as the next gen admin frontend. There is a lot to do and because I was on a holiday things around my website where quiet.

I'm new to Open Source development and therefore also searching for the right way to work with it.
